Abaco Islands are located in the northern part of the Bahamas. The Abaco Islands are a group of islands and cays. Tidal currents have created a maze of interconnected tunnels and domed caves inside the main reef. Near the northern part of the island, Walker's Cay dive site consists of multiple mazes, tunnels and deep walls and is also considered the best shark dive site in all the Bahamas. Diving here is available year round. Average ambient temperature in winter is around 64-77F/18-25C and in summer about 75-91F/24-33C. The water temperature is about 21-24C/70-76F in winter and 26-30C/80-86F in summer. May through October has the most rain. What to see: Divers can find many marine creatures here, such as Creole wrasses, crabs, blue tangs, grouper, snapper, lionfish, angelfish, and turtles.
