Bathala Maaga Kan is a dive site in North Ari Atoll in the Maldives that features a 300m/984ft-long reef, overhangs, and swim-throughs. The bottom is covered by soft and hard corals, which are full of diverse species.

When to go

It is possible to dive at Bathala Maaga Kan any time of the year, but the period from January to May has better weather conditions. The rainy season lasts from June to November. The air temperature averages 28-30C/82-86F, while the water temperature is 26-29C/79-84F.

What to see

This dive site is inhabited by eagle rays, gray reef sharks, mackerel, tuna, and barracudas. Other fish types include trumpetfish, parrotfish, surgeonfish, and snapper. The smaller representatives are shrimp, nudibranchs, and tiny tropical fish of all colors.
