Tepekong (also known as the Canyon) is a dive site at Padang Bai in Bali that features an awe-inspiring canyon. It is shaped like an amphitheater and is full of large marine life. The canyon consists of black stone walls which form the backdrop for numerous schools of different fish. Tepekong is a great drift dive, but divers should be careful with the strong downward currents.

When to go

It is possible to dive at the Canyon throughout the year, but August to October has the best visibility. The average water temperature is 26-28C/79-82F, and the air is typically 28-29C/82-84F.

What to see

Tepekong has the marine species that are the highlights of this area, such as whitetip reef sharks and ocean sunfish. There are many unicornfish, sweetlips, batfish, and snapper that swim past all the types of hard and soft corals.
