Gota Abu Makadi has a large plateau with numerous coral boulders and ledges that rise up from the sand. Divers have lots of opportunities to examine the slope nearby and explore several descending canyons.

When to go

Hurghada has a subtropical climate, with hot summers and warm winters. The average temperature is 30-33C/89-91F in summer and 17-19C/62-66F in winter. The hottest month is July, and the wettest month is September. The best month to dive is August, when the water temperature is 28C/83F.

What to see

Numerous marine creatures can be observed while scuba diving at Gota Abu Makadi. Divers can admire small species such as crabs, hermit crabs, seahorses, and nudibranchs. There are also opportunities to see octopi, turtles, grouper, jackfish, barracudas, and mackerel at this site.
