Northwest of Gili Trawangan there is a Halik reef famous for drift diving along the corals and for swimming with turtles. This underwater paradise is available whether to newly qualified diving or of an advanced level.

When to go

The highest diving season is January, July, August, September and December. Diving is also possible throughout May, June and October. The low season affects February, March, April and November and brings a rainy weather. The average water temperature is 28C/82F throughout a year.

What to see

Lionfish, moray eels, coral grouper, bumphead parrotfish (around the full moon), green and hawksbill turtles inhabit the shallower reef, coral canyons of Deep Halik promise to see reef sharks, eagle rays, and trevally.
