Monad Shoal is an underwater island on the edge of a 200m/656ft drop off. It is the most famous dive site around Malapascua. Divers from all over the world are coming here to see the thresher sharks. The shark dives start early in the morning. In the afternoon, it is a good chance to see devil rays and giant manta rays.

When to go

The best time to dive is from March to May, but possible to dive all year round. The average air temperature is from 24C/75F to 32C/89F. The water temperature varies between 24C/75F and 30C/86F.

What to see

Thresher sharks, octopus, mantis shrimp and nudibranchs can be seen here regularly.
