The Surin Islands dive site consists of two main islands forming the great reef. Diving in the site is spectacular as divers can discover multiple coral shallows and fringing boulders teeming with fish. It is a top dive area for snorkelers and beginners. Currents are usually medium (1-2knots), but can be strong (2-3knots) from November to January.

When to go

The average water temperatures are 28-30C/82-86F. The dry season lasts from November to April with the air temperature of 31C/87F. The wet season runs from October to May and is suitable for the liveaboard diving.

What to see

Scuba-diving in the Surin Islands consists of examining fascinating reef with the great diversity of underwater creatures. Divers may encounter such species as black-tip reef sharks, turtles, trevallies, barracuda, fusiliers, cardinalfish, jawfish and mantis shrimps. Eagles and manta ray are usually spotted while diving from February to April.
