This cargo ferry (La Salvatierra) sank in 1976 right after striking Swanee Rock (fitted with a warning light) no one died among hundreds of passengers on board. The wreck is laying on a sandy bottom in 18m/60ft of depth, and is approximately 70% intact with both propellers exposed. The wreck has formed an artificial reef attracting a wide range of sea life. Many of the trucks which were onboard as a cargo are still visible and their tires remain pumped in to this day. This is an exciting and enjoyable wreck dive with no penetration.
