Great value for money. Hammerheads, dolphins, mantas, and great white sharks can be seen. Professionally experienced team. All divers need to be Nitrox certified to dive. unlimited nitrox is free of charge.

Boat Interior
The boat's staterooms are cozy and comfortable, equipped with private showers and air conditioning. All cabins are placed on the lower deck. Salon V has a lot of space with an entertainment area, supplied with a large-screen HDTV, VCR, and DVD player. Here passengers will find many comfortable places to relax in between dives or chat with other guests. Meals on the board Solmar V Liveaboard are excellent. Only fresh ingredients and a variety of food and special dietary needs are being catered to. Snacks are served almost all day long. You can grab some with you to not miss your diving adventure.

Safety
Built according to all international and U.S. Coast Guard safety rules and regulations. It is equipped with a sat phone plus handheld radios as well as 2 EPIRBs (GPS emergency locators), a first aid kit (which includes a defibrillator) and 2 big hospital oxygen bottles, and 1 small DAN portable oxygen bottle. Additionally, all crew is first aid certified annually.

Dive Deck
Diving is available both from the boat's own panga and from the board of Solmar V. There are entry gates on both sides of the boat. The dive deck is perfectly designed for divers' comfort. It is spacious and has a lot of places to store gear after diving. The dive stations are placed around the outside of the dive deck, so it’s much easier for divers, they don’t need to carry tanks. There are rinse tanks for gear, including two tanks for cameras. For divers who are fond of underwater photography, the boat has a big camera table. Also, several charging points are available onboard. The Solmar V is a nitrox-only boat from November 2023 onwards, and nitrox is included in all bookings without a surcharge.

Giant Pacific Manta Rays
Another famous diving destination that is available on the liveaboard is Socorro Island. It is home to big mantas. The boat's crew was working on researching these magnificent creatures for many years. Team members never chase mantas letting them initiate contact with divers by themselves. That gives you an amazing opportunity to observe mantas in their natural behavior. Also, during the trip to Socorro divers will be visiting hammerhead cleaning stations.

Itinerary
Itineraries include the world-famous Socorro and Sea of Cortez. Dive Safaris to Socorro are typically 8 nights, but the Solmar V additionally offers some 9 or 10 night trips
throughout the year. These diving destinations are represented by a wide variety of marine inhabitants like great white sharks and big mantas. Plus, there is a possibility to dive with dolphins, tuna, mackerel, angelfish, manta rays whale sharks, hammerheads, tiger sharks, and many more. Socorro also is a home for a lot of humpback whales. In some months, they are often seen here.

The boat travels to Socorro from November through June because, after 20+ years of experience, they have found these months to be favorable to dive with the pelagics that roam this area. End of the Summer till October yacht offers great white shark cage diving on Guadalupe Island. Because it’s the height of the migration period for the sharks through that area, the Solmar V has had a 100% success rate of encounters with the great white sharks since 2005.

When to go
The best time to visit Socorro Islands is from November to June and Guadalupe Island from August through October. The best time to dive with whale sharks is from November to December and in May and June. Time from January to May is good to watch humpback whales

Don't go until they sort out there maintenance issuesVerified review
The boats engine failed 10 miles into our trip its 290 mile trip to Socorro. The previous trip had been cut short due to engine failure the company has allegedly run out of credit for boat repairs locally. We missed 2 days of diving and had a 44hr return trip. I was promised an email on the 8th March from the company with refund details its now the 14th and still nothing. Divebooker are chasing.
