Professional dive guides provide well-planned routes that include the best dive sites. The boat has a spacious dive deck and two big sundecks and a salon for lounging. Nitrox is available onboard. Suites for individual divers and also can be booked for a group or chartered.
Boat interior
9 spacious cabins can accommodate up to 18 guests. All staterooms are en-suite and have air conditioning. Common areas are ideal to spend time onboard. It has a cozy lounge zone with sofas. Relax in the evening after a day of diving or spend time in between dives. Here you can chat with other passengers, read a book or watch TV. The lounge has big windows, so you can watch the view. But to enjoy the scenery better to go upstairs to the upper deck where you can find two sun areas. One is shaded and equipped with a TV screen and the other has several sun loungers. There you can get some sun.
Dive deck
The dive deck has enough space to carry equipment and make you prepared for the dive comfortably. It has equipment boxes, and places to maintain gear after diving. South moon has a Nitrox membrane and two air compressors onboard.
Safety
Safety is always important during the dive safari. South Moon has all necessary safety equipment according to Egyptian coastal license requirements: life jackets and emergency rafts, flares, line-throwing guns, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and fire pumps.
Itineraries
Liveaboards itineraries include diving on the best and most attractive Nothern dive sites. Mostly it's wrecks of the Red Sea. Visit the famous Thistlegorm and explore this sunken ship from inside if you have an advanced certification. Thistlegorm is one of the most famous wrecks of Egypt. It was sunken in 1945 while transporting equipment and guns to Suez. From then it lies on the bottom, covered with numerous corals. Another wreck to visit is Rosalie Moller. It’s the shallowest part is in the 18 meters depth. You can still see equipment on its board. Divers can also dive at Abu Nuhas ship graveyard. Its five sunken ships lie at different depths.
When to go
Egypt is an all-year diving destination. Water temperature is always suited for diving and currents are usually not strong. But in Winter sometimes it can be rather cold. Summer months are not so good for diving as well, the water temperature can be hot, but it still allows to dive. The best time to visit Egyptian diving destinations is in Spring and Autumn
